"Patron and oppressor..." - Correspondence between Zbigniew Herbert and Karl Dedecius
Exhibition in the reading room of the Collegium Polonicum library
Zbigniew Herbert is one of the most significant Polish poets of the 20th century and one of the most highly regarded Polish authors by German readers. By now he has been intensely read and discussed, inspiring and controversial. The poet-philosopher, art connoisseur and seasoned traveller found in Karl Dedecius a worthy partner for dialogue and correspondence. The exhibition presents letters, drawings and manuscripts by Zbigniew Herbert from the collections of Karl Dedecius deposited in the archive named after him in Słubice.
The exhibition can be viewed during the opening hours of the Collegium Polonicum library. Enquiries about individual guided tours which are free in Polish or German should be sent to: brockmann@europa-uni.de.
